Breast Reduction Procedures
For patients interested in a breast reduction we typically would reccomend moving to a smaller size such as a nice size "C". This usually involves a scar similar to a breast lift, with an incision around the areola and straight down, or for larger breast, around the areola, straight down and into the crease under the breast (the so called keyhole incision).
The scar is not the most important thing. The most important thing is how we shape the breast. We remove the excess fatty tissue and breast tissue, and they create a good shape to the breast tissue.
The skin is draped around the breast wich results in a good scar. We preserve the nerves and blood vessels that go to the nipple areola, so most patients do not complain of loss of sensation. Most patients can also continue to breast feed in the future if they so desire.
