This usually involves a scar similar to a breast lift, with an incision around the areola and straight down, or for larger breast, around the areola, straight down and into the crease under the breast (the so-called “keyhole incision”).

Key to the success of this procedure is how we shape the breast. We remove the excess fatty tissue and breast tissue, and then create a good shape to the breast tissue.

To minimize scarring, the skin is strategically draped around the breast. We preserve the nerves and blood vessels that go to the nipple areola, so most patients do not complain of loss of sensation. Most patients can also continue to breast feed in the future if they so desire.
