The results are in and according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery the top 5 cosmetic surgeries of 2015 are:
- Breast Augmentation
- Tummy Tuck
- Breast Lift
- Eyelid Surgery
These cosmetic surgeries are all procedures that Dr.Rehnke specializes in here at the Center for Surgical Excellence. Dr.Rehnke has combined three of these top five procedures to create a new procedure that includes both liposuction with breast augmentation/lift through fat grafting and Internal Mastopexy. So what exactly is an Internal Mastopexy? The Internal Mastopexy is a way of lifting the breast through internal tightening by running a special suture around the ring of fascia, fibers of collagen, at the base of the breast, and cinching it into a tighter position. Because this suture is on the under side of the breast, but above the muscle, it can not be felt when touching the breast. Because it is within the bodies collagen fascial support system, it is not uncomfortable. Since Dr. Rehnke invented this procedure, in 2013, he has performed the surgery on over 275 breasts. In May 2015 Dr.Rehnke reported his experience with this new technique at the annual meeting of American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS). Our patients have expressed great satisfaction with the outcomes and suffered extremely low complication rates. This original operation combines perfectly with another key advance in plastic surgery - fat grafting. Once the breast has been lifted and tightened, fat can be liposuctioned from other ares of the body, and injected under the skin, into fat layers in the breast. This enhances the “perkiness” of the breast and usually avoids the need for silicone breast implants. This combination of Internal Mastopexy and Fat Grafting to the breast has become the foundation of almost all the breast procedures we perform, both cosmetic and reconstruction.
